This afternoon as I was working away using 2, maybe 3 computer programs simultaneously, the power decided to go off. Nearly that whole side of town went powerless. Naturally, my first thought was @#!$%^!!! For others, the gripe was that it went off in the last few seconds of the PGA tournament. TV's were blaring out of three rooms. Not a sports fan, so I didn't care about that.
First there was total silence (which, I believe to be the sound of disbelief, at that moment. Then, "Hey, who didn't pay the bill" "What happened?" "Hey!!" Two of my coworkers came out of their offices giggling and fussing and we were all chattering deciding on what caused it. Then we heard this muffled voice from behind the wall of my bosses office (which has no windows and hence, no light) that said, (cover mouth for effect HERE)"SOMEBODY OPEN THE DAMN DOOR!"
I still can't stop laughing about it! He said all he could see was his watch dial. We asked him if he was scared in there. Whew, that was really funny! (wiping tears)
We guessed it was because of air conditioner overload since it was in the 90's today and humid.
Well, that was the most interesting thing that happened all day. The rest of the day I just worked happily because I worked Sunday and got all caught up so there is no panting for time to do now. If I can manage to stay on top of it, I'll be pleasantly surprised.

"When you smilin...."
Got this in my head for some reason and had to look it up and listen. I love anything by Louis Armstrong. Unmatchable talent.

I just felt like blogging
Thursday night when I got home it looked cloudy and I had heard some thunder, but not seen any rain yet. When I had been home about 5 or 10 minutes it started to rain HARD. The wind blew strong and you couldn't see past the end of the porch for the rain.
We were going to go out but we decided to wait until it stopped raining or at least slowed down some. Finally a break in the rain (to a heavy sprinkle) so my dh headed out to the car to unlock it so we could just jump in. I gave him a couple minutes then dd and I ran for it. Not noticing that he had left the two front windows down for the monsoon, I jerked the door open and plopped down in a squishy seat.... immediately disgusted. I had just bought those capris, too! So, we were in the car, it was pouring again so no use changing now. To the restaurant we went. Wet butts and all.
We went to one of our favorites, Rib Shack. They have great food there and it's always packed from Thursday to Saturday. It was packed, as usual. I went in. Walking slowly in the rain as I was about to be further humiliated and the music of doom was playing in my head.
I got some stares, but it was raining so I guess they figured it out. I went to the restroom first and dried my feet and my sandals (yeah, good choice in footwear, dumbbunny). I went back and sat down. In the heavy pine, heavy laquered chair. Remember what happens to heavily laquered coffee tables when you don't use a coaster? Well...
I felt my behind drying as I was sitting there (for about 30 minutes). When I got up I was glad my butt felt dry. But I was shocked to find a white model of my backside and legs imprinted on the chair. Even the wrinkle in the seat of my pants was there as a dark spot in the white imprint.
We laughed and so did management when I told them what I did to their chair. Of course, I had to tell them who was responsible in the first place. DH. It was pretty funny, though.
On another note, I got a reverse compliment today. Not an insult, really, but I was told "Man, you look different today. You looked so cute yesterday." I had on those new capri's and a new top I bought for a lunch affair on Wednesday. It wasn't something I would usually wear. It was one of those tops that makes you look preggers if you don't stand up straight. It bothered me so that I almost tucked it in. Anyway, I said thank you to the complimenter. The other thought didn't hit me til later on.
I sure hope dh mows the lawn tomorrow. He is off work so maybe he will if it's not raining. I need to work on Sunday. My job can easily get away from me so I have to catch up sometimes. Besides, i can use the overtime for my book fund.
Speaking of that, i have to go tomorrow and pick up my new book from bookland. Solitude of Self by Elizabeth Cady Stanton. I can't stop buying books. Even though I know there is no more room for anymore in my room and I don't need to be spending the money on them I CAN'T STOP. I have to have a new (or used) one every month. At least one. Being in paperbackswap bookclub helps curve my expenses tremendously and it's like getting a present in the mail. I really enjoy it. Between that and the thrift shops here I can feed my craving pretty regularly! I need to ask my sister if she'll send me that Huck Finn book I asked her about. I just remembered that. We will see each other maybe in a few days or weeks who knows. Thank goodness for email!

Update.
My weight is still 130 pounds. I thought I wanted to change my diet and my workout but as it turns out I should have left well enough alone. My gym partner has cautioned me to give it more time. That the way I was going will give me better results than if I change it now. Just be patient. YEESH. That is too hard! I don't want to wait! I want muscles now! I wanna be back in my 1's and 2's now!
I am surprising myself with how much will power I still have, though. I had AWESOME will power when I was bodybuilding before but when dh got injured, we both quit. HUGE mistake. Now we are both starting back. The hardest thing? Getting back into the cardio. Anyone who bodybuilds knows how much of a pain in the ass cardio is. Ya gotta do it. Bottom line, hate it or not.
Time to remove makeup and paint toenails. Ciao.

Hurt Owl
She almost looks mechanical. Apparently, she was hunting in the city and was hit by a truck. These guys rescued her. Their voices get annoying, but I only post it because seeing a wild owl this close is rare. This was posted to Youtube 6 months ago. Not sure where this happened.
